Tax-free Childcare.

Tax-free childcare.

The new tax-free childcare scheme is being introduced from April 2017 and will provide a top up to employed and self-employed parents whose employer doesn’t provide support for childcare costs. It has now been announced that families will be ineligible if either parent earns more than £100,000 (originally £150,000). Additionally, both parents will be required to work a minimum of 16 hours per week paid at national minimum wage rates – so voluntary work won’t count. Originally this was eight hours.
